How soon should we photograph our newborn after birth?
A.It is usually easiest and smoothest to photograph your newborn between 3-14 days old, but can definitely be later if needed!
How should we prepare our home for the session?
A.That is completely up to you! I recommend having the baby’s nursery, your room (the parents’ room), and the family room how you’d like for photos. We can move things around and then replace right when we are done as well.
What time of day should the session be?
A.In the morning after baby’s first or second feeding is a great time for the session as baby will likely be sleepy and just going with the flow!
What should we wear?
A.You can pick out an outfit for baby, or I can wrap baby up so they are nice and snug!
The parents can wear whatever they are comfortable and confident in!
With a new postpartum body, I know it can be hard to pick an outfit that makes you feel good. You can wear a plain sweatshirt and leggings if that’s what you feel confident in at this very vulnerable time. If you need help picking an outfit, I am more than willing to offer some help, just reach out!
What should the house temperature be for the session?
A.It is best if the house is nice and warm, as baby will be most comfortable that way and stay settled for longer.
